Since 2016, Mediterranean partners in the Balkan countries have been very active implementing several projects in many different topics and areas. The moment has come to demonstrate the results and impact of these operations in the regions of this area.

In the Interreg Mediterranean (MED) Programme, 1 out of 2 running projects involves partners from Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro, the three Interreg MED-IPA participating countries.

More than 40 partners are involved in 45 projects (out of 91) cooperating in diverse topics from innovation to biodiversity protection.

These figures demonstrate the skills, the capacity and the strength of the European countries’ contribution, benefiting from the Instrument of pre-accession assistance (IPA) to deliver the programme results.

As many projects reach their conclusion this year, the time has come to showcase the solutions, tests, studies, policy-making measures, field work and Interreg MED cooperation added value behind these figures, assessing the real impact of Interreg MED projects throughout IPA regions.

Co-organised by the Directorate for European Integration, National authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in association with the Region of Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur of France, Managing Authority of the Interreg MED Programme, the event “MADE in MED in the Balkans” on 13th June 2019 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be the occasion to take stock and show the importance of the contributions of the Balkan project partners to the cooperation in the Mediterranean.

What’s on the agenda?

The event is structured around two main important moments: testimonials of partners involved in Interreg MED projects, with a special mention for best solutions put in place and an exchange of views on real impact of projects in IPA territories.
