The European Commission's Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Bulgarian EU Presidency and the Municipality of Burgas are organising the big celebration also known as the European Maritime Day 2018.
The conference will take place on 31 May and 1 June 2018 in Burgas, Bulgaria and will gather important stakeholders from different sea-basins to debate on common maritime challenges.
More than 18 workshops will cover topics such as aquaculture, maritime spatial planning, offshore energy, blue bio-economy, digitalization and big data, marine research, innovation and ocean literacy, marine litter, ports and maritime security, sea-basin cooperation and public funds.
The Interreg MED Programme, together with other 4 Interreg Programmes participating in the Knowledge of the seas network, will take part in the exhibition of the event through a joint stand, presenting the results of their current projects related to maritime cooperation.
A joint brochure will also be diffused during the event in coordination with the participating Interreg Programmes.
Round tables on the state of the art and the future of regional strategies and maritime cooperation, jointly coordinated by the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) and Interact/Knowledge of the Seas Network, will take place on the 31st of May 2018.
The plenary sessions will be webstreamed with Bulgarian and English interpretation.
