The project supports and relaunch the competitiveness of transnational tourism by integrating the information flows and databases currently available to the public-private system with the local tourism offer.

The Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur is organising the International online conference of the Smart Destination project,  jointly organised by the partners of the project within the framework of Interreg Marittimo-IT FR-Maritime programme. The key for the good management of the tourism sector lies in the interoperability of tourism data and the ability to swiftly provide updated, accessible and personalised information to tourists in each destinations.

On this occasion, at the Round Table from 14:30 to 15:30  the Interreg MED projects ShapeTourism and BESTMED will share insights and best practices on the interoperability of public tourism data.

ShapeTourism sought to bridge the gap between public and private management of tourism by providing the necessary tools and analysis to policy makers and private operators. BEST MED is trying to enhance the participation of all the actors involved in the tourism sectors allowing for a better integrated and sustainable tourism planning.
