"Does Maritime Cooperation Matter?" is the message released by Interact through a series of video showcasing how organisations and people across Europe cooperate to face maritime challenges with the support of Interreg Programmes.
Since 2014, over 330 millions euro of EU-funding has been invested through Interreg in maritime cooperation. The cooperation of several and multi-sectoral partners allows to tackle common maritime issues, from reducing marine litter, to strengthen small medium enterprises in the marine sector circular and sustainable practices, and the development of a monitor system to forecast floods.
It is crucial to share the message of cooperation, and to this aim Interact and the Knowledge of the Sea Network released 5 videos showcasing how manifold Interreg maritime cooperation projects can be, among which the Interreg MED BLUEfasma project whose objectives reflect the meaning of fasma: "bring to light". The project seeks to generate new approaches and strategies to increase Small Medium enterprises circular and sustainable practices in the fishing and aquaculture sector.
