The first phase of the pilot action in Port-Cros National Park just ended !

This first phase just ended, after 5 consultation meetings and 24 individual face-to-face interviews – directly on the field. The second phase – coming soon – will gather all the stakeholders around the same table.

The objective of the pilot action is to organize the management of the extended marine area of the National Park. Among the different possible tools stand the strongly protected areas, under their french definition: it is not necessarily a « no take no go zone », but some activities could be allowed as long as their impact is low and controlled.

As announced previously, the first consultation meeting - animated by a service provider – started in November 2020 online because of the lockdown. The objective of the first phase is to consult each main usage separately: professional fishing, recreational fishing, and diving, in order to understand their vision and knowledge of the territory.

This first phase just ended, after 5 consultation meetings (including one with the State Services) and 24 individual face-to-face interviews – directly on the field.

The second phase – coming soon – will gather all the stakeholders around the same table. This step will lead the users and partners of the extended marine area toward concrete projects and management solutions for the territory.
